Yep, if I was the bystander that saved the woman, I would have left the scene also. The current MPD would have found fault in the person who saved that woman’s life. I hope he didn’t leave his knife behind so as not to leave his prints.

Seems like the police know why the guy who did the stabbing is (and they have his car). Hope they don't charge him with anything.

Vigilantism is really bad and it’s unfortunate that we are seeing it increase because people are losing faith.

On either end? What is that supposed to mean?

Don’t need to celebrate death but also don’t need to make the carjacker out as a victim either.

This will have to get much, much worse before anything changes. A woman member of Congress was attacked in her building and that didn’t move the needle.

Thanks for the article. Sounds like the carjacker was beating a woman with a metal baton then was stabbed by a bystander. Not surprised the bystander fled as I wouldn't bet my freedom on DC's interpretation of self defense. The perception right now is you have to let violent criminals do whatever they want to do.

From the article it sounds like the two citizens who were passing by were trying to assist the woman who was inside the car.

11:00 am, and a woman inside the car during the carjacking

It is so sad in our society that women are not treated with respect.

I deleted threads in which the original posters were celebrating the death of the man. That is unseemly and not something that I am going to allow.

OP, that article probably has more details than anything else I have seen about this incident and I've been actively looking for more information.

Why? What are you looking for?

I always try to be informed about controversial topics that will be posted here. People post a lot of BS and I like to have some basis for identifying it.

Crazy that two bystanders attempted to stop the car jacking/victim during the initial assault.

Councilmember or Mayor said anything yet?

The article says he was stabbed by someone who intervened to try to stop the carjacking.
