Last PP thanks for those pics! I love the mix of neutrals and natural materials. There’s so much light in the new place I don’t think I’ll need as much pops of bright color as I’ve used in the past. Keep the suggestions coming!

modern, clean, comfortable
I like grays, neutral off White and darker greige colors.
tall ceilings, chair rails in the dining room, a chunky fireplace with substantial mantle

The new house sounds beautiful! I actually love it when people put some modern things in a traditional home. Let's seen if we can find some pictures with modern pieces in traditional homes.

I'm just going to show you where I got this image because I think the whole post might give you ideas: https://jane-athome.com/modern-dining-room-ideas/

The chairs might not be right for your taste, but I like the mix here.

This might be a bit too close to modern farmhouse, but with different chairs, it might work for what you're trying to do.

My style skews mid century eclectic, not super modern or traditional. My furniture is a mix of new US made mid century inspired pieces, vintage Lane MCM (family hand me downs but I love them because my grandparents worked there), West Elm and Crate and Barrel (and Ikea but, well I’m 43 it’s time to let that go). This style suited our traditional mid century hybrid house that didn’t really know what it was. Low ceilings, long narrow windows, and little substantial millwork anywhere. We are moving into a new home with tall ceilings, chair rails in the dining room, a chunky fireplace with substantial mantle, oak/granite kitchen (needs updating), very large windows/tons of natural light, and light honey hardwood and I need some style inspiration.

I prefer modern, clean, comfortable and I need to paint the whole house, outfit the dining room (currently has one of those cubic wooden light fixtures which is too rustic for me). I like grays, neutral off White and darker greige colors. Help me find Duke style inspiration! I don’t think the look we are going for is modern farmhouse but I feel like that’s all I see in these more traditional looking homes.
