Yes this is it, May 9th. But it's still a total of 6 hours of tests - 3.15 for the first one (not physics) and then 90 minutes x2 for physics. Isn't that a lot?

Lots of people get stuck with 6 hours of AP tests on a single day...

It is a lot. But last year my son had AP French and AP Physics 1 on the same day.
AP Physics 1 was 3 h and I think AP French went longer than 3 h.
It sucks but it is what it is

Oh I get it now, I guess Physics counts as 1 exam as it's two shorter tests.

AP Physics exams are no joke. I would ask the testing coordinator about moving at least 1 of them

I wouldn’t sweat it. He’s used to concentrating all day at school if he’s a straight A student. I was like him, and thought AP exam days were a lot easier than the regular school day, because it’s easier to concentrate when everyone else around you is quiet instead of the usual class distractions.

This is what I’d do. My kid had two in one day last year and it was a lot. No way I’d be okay with my next kid (current junior taking 3 tests this year) doing all three in one day

I think it depends on which exams he's taking. I'd personally advise taking one on a make-up day if possible, no matter how smart and organized he is, just to maximize the odds that he does his best on all three rather than pooping out, because that is a lot for one day. There's no shame in doing so -- presumably he's learned the material and there's no extra points for busting his butt to do three exams in a day.

If he's already a straight-A student with that many AP classes, I wouldn't sweat it. Clearly he's capable of handling rigor and he's already demonstrated pretty strong mastery of the material, so the tests shouldn't be an extraordinary burden on him mentally.

My son has 3 AP exams in a single day, from 8am-3.30pm, with only 30 and 45 minute breaks in between. Considering that some tests start late, I assume his breaks may only be 15-20 minutes. He's a straight A student and is convinced this is not a problem, but I think he's overestimating his ability to concentrate for basically 7 hours straight. Should I try to convince him to postpone one?
