As far as I know, there is not single cutoff and schools are able to decide for themselves. By weighted, do you mean do they use the locally normed percentile? No, that is only for CES/middle school magnet lottery pools; for decisions at local schools, they use the national percentile.

I can't think of anyone in our school who didn't move to 5/6 from 4/5. The number of students actually went up; a few who were in Math 4 last year went to 5/6 this year.

If your kid is getting a B or better they will continue in compacted. If they are getting a C or lower they will likely not.

My kid is currently in compacted math (4th grade). Curious what criteria / cut offs are used for her to continue in Compacted in 5th grade. I’ve found the school to not be very transparent about these types of placements, so curious if anyone has any insight or experience. Thanks!
