What happens in the winter with micro clover?

Yes.

Is there any particular reason though you don't want to wait until fall for seeding? I've gotten beautiful results using seed, and it costs a lot less. If you can just wait a few months, you may saveca lot of money. If money doesn't matter, then use sod.

I have small defined areas within a lawn that are doing poorly and they’re ugly and look muddy at times. About the size of a roll of sod, x 4

It depends on the amount of sun. If it is in a super sunny spot, you'll want a hardier breed. It's too late now OP, wait until the fall to seed again. You'll have much better results in the long run.

If you have an HOA you may need to chemical bomb the yard. Some HOAs don’t allow weeds.

No we left the DMV. Currently in growing zone 6 in the midwest. Also perfectly willing to wait if it's better to plant later, but our HOA may have something to say about that lol.

Check out the lawncare subreddit - I think you’ll have better luck there. But generally you probably should wait until fall.

We moved into a new home and the builder only seeded the back yard last October. Some grass has grown, but we clearly need to reseed. What's our best route? We have no idea what they used, it's not documented, and all our questions from the hand off person have gone unanswered. Does it matter if we plant the same variety or go with whatever?

Any tips? We do not have green thumbs lol and would prefer not to sod as we've had a lot of big costs between moving and upgrades.
