Arms race is not the limbs that one puts in a shirt/uniform. Arms race is a country or nation trying to maintain the greatest number of weaponry.

ESP for girls uniforms way better. Less pressure all around, whether it’s wealth or willingness to wear tight/short/low cut (or avoid mockery for same).

Love our k8 school’s uniform because it’s just khaki bottoms (length restriction on shorts/skirts but otherwise anything khaki colored, and my fabric-sensitive child wears knit versions) with a school logo polo in one of 3 school colors on top. Minimal shoe restrictions (closed toe, no sandals/flip flops/crocs; and no sneakers for dress uniform events). Sweater or fleece with school logo in school colors if the child needs a layer inside, no restriction on outdoor outer layers. Despite having to pay for the logo items at Lands End, it’s been super easy and overall less expensive. DD is actually kind of stressed about having to figure out a “wardrobe” for next year now that she’s moving to a HS with no uniform.

I like all of it. I have a 5th grade DD who won’t wear skirts or dresses. The uniform policy allows girls to wear khaki or navy shorts or pants. They can wear a skirt or skirt if they want to but it’s not required.
Shirt is a polo with Logo in a choice of 4 colors.
The only thing I don’t like, now I think about it, is the PE shorts don’t have pockets. There are certain time in the month that forms need pockets. Makes discretion easier. The PE pants do. I brought it up with admin and they will look into getting shorts with pockets ( so they said)

Like - skorts/shorts and polos are comfortable for K-5. Polos are a dark color. Lower school admin isn't picky about grass stains or fading.

Dislike - PE uniform pants are a very light color which makes things uncomfortable for older girls. 6-8th girls can only wear a skirt, never shorts or pants, and leggings aren't allowed across the entire school. Middle school boys can only wear pants even when it's 105 degrees, never shorts. Switch from winter to spring uniform is set in stone on the calendar for early April like it has been for the past 60 years and there's no allowance for abnormally warm days that occur earlier and earlier every year.

Dislike- parents who don’t follow precisely and/or complain about them

Like: school not picky with shoes.
Dislike:Allows khaki skorts only. No khaki skirts. DD dislikes wearing skorts with leggings.
