Manage doesn't mean impersonate.

Well, impersonating Bob could give rise to civil liability at a minimum.

You can also set Bob’s account to an out of office that says he no longer works there and all inquiries on his matters should be re-directed to you.

Just have your IT department put an out of office message that alerts people he is no longer with the company and to reach out to a different email with requests. Then have him forward his emails to you.

I would not go into his email account though….

Everything about this is fine except for the pretending to be Bob part. Like others said, just reply from your own email and explain you’re taking over his duties.

Dear Client, My name is Bobby Smith. As of 4/1 I am taking over Bob Jones accounts. Regarding your email from last week...

Please contact me at this email/# for future issues.

This. And you can program Bob's emails to forward to your own account if you aren't already receiving them. Or have your IT route certain emails to you vice Bob.

Or forward to yourself with no text that implies you are Bob, and then reply from your own account. YOu want to taper off of managing that email account.
