I don't think she's doing a terrible job but she's not doing a memorable job. She's not doing enough to get her on the ticket in 2028, that's for sure.

Except for what happened around Jan 6th when did we hear about anything Pence did? He seemed iced out more than other VPs. Harris was openly hostile about Joe before she was picked as his VIP. That’s what bothers me about her bc I was an early Joe proponent. As VP I always felt like P aka would pray that Joe wouldn’t open his mouth when they were in public together. Every once in awhile you’d see Obama shake his head disassociating himself from what Joe said or to try to wave Joe off from saying something embarrassing.

With Pence I think people felt like if something happened to Trump they *might* get someone better.

Yeah.... you may (justifiably) think of Dick Cheney as the spawn of Satan, or Satan himself, but he was maybe 10x as competent as Harris - she just seems empty - of charisma, intellect, everything - completely unequal to any serious task - the idea of her as POTUS, if something happens to the boss, is just terrifying - worse than Trump or Biden

If you put “spawn of Satan” and “competent” in the same sentence when describing a VP, they probably weren’t viewed as a popular candidate to ascend to the top spot. Just sayin.

Interesting. I can’t say I had high expectations for her from a results perspective (what results can a VP really deliver?). I was really pumped about her selection because I thought she checked a lot of boxes, but was a little wet behind the ears and still too much the “smug attorney.” I just wanted her to be a diplomat who made us proud by traveling the globe, shaking hands and kissing babies, and in the process building up her presidential bona fides. I think they tried to give her projects that were, frankly, impossible (I think the border was her first task? Ouch). She learned too late that scoffing and laughing are not a good look for the stage she’s now on, even though they worked for her before. She can’t overcome both the republican smears (she’s a woman and she’s black: too easy a target) and her early missteps.

The only logical conclusion is for Gore to be Biden’s VP in 2024. They’re about the same age (I think Gore is younger?), so why not.

I don't recall Gore being viewed as a clown. He was legitimately seen as a potential presidential candidate. Quayle was the one that had the unfortunate clown associate due to missteps, despite that he was a pretty competent senator. Cheney was extremely competent and ran the Bush administration.

No one noticed Biden while he was VP and let's not forget he was brutally shuffled aside to make way for Hillary and Obama is on record as saying unflattering things about him. Biden isn't particularly sharp and definitely, despite what some of you want to protest otherwise, suffers from aging issues. There's a reason why most Democrats don't want him to run again.

Harris was picked as VP solely because Biden made a promise to Clyburn to nominate as many black people. That was the only thing she offered to the role. It's not dissimilar from other VPs in the past who were brought in as part of political compromises, but she will certainly go down in history as among the least noteworthy VPs.

She’s been a failure. Sadly if Biden maintains capacity to run he’s kind of roped himself in to keep her with him.

Yes I am a Democrat. And no I am not satisfied with what I’ve seen (or haven’t seen) from Harris.

But then, let’s think about this. When was the last time we had a VP who wasn’t a joke? (Don’t tell me Biden because his image completely changed after 8 years of Obama; he went from rough-hewn loose cannon who had friends across the aisle to stabilizing grandpa after Trump). Gore was always viewed as a bit of a clown…Was it Bush?? VPs are always a laughing stock. Otherwise they’d get the nomination.

Are we being too harsh on Kamala? And if not, who’d want that gig? Anyone worth his/her salt is eyeing the top job.
