LabCorp is one option, but since they are a “Jack of all trades” bio-testing place, they may not be the best option.

The 2 practices which tend to specialize in this sort of thing are urologists and fertility practices. They test in-house which leads to the most accurate results.

Fair Oaks used to be (during Covid) drop off only. But probably they are back open as normal now (which is a much better option).

LabCorp only offers it one day a month because they need the right person to be there. So it isn't some rando lab tech reading the results.

Yes, but that is why a full time fertility clinic, with a dedicated semen lab, is preferable to LabCorp.

We had it done there but not impressed. There was no report, just had to take the doctors word for it on a phone call a month later

Now I understand, and yes, they really should have provided you with the full report.

A full report has way more information, such as motility, sperm morphology, Ph, volume, etcetera, and that’s valuable information to have in planning.

It should have been given to you.

Because they can make a lot of money off of IVF and surrogacy with LGBTQ people. That being said we are all essentially in the same boat so if you need help you're just going to have to deal with it.

I would avoid both LabCorp and Quest Diagnostics for this. Also avoid the “at home” tests. There are reasons for this.

In my experience, there is a difference in quality between the different tests offered by various local clinics. I would recommend the service offered by CCRM, which is better at detecting sperm DNA fragmentation.

Virtually any of the local fertility practices offer this service (although, I would avoid JHU at all costs). It is very routine and used after a vasectomy too.

Was there something specific about Shady Grove Fertility which made you seek another practice for testing?

We chose Fair Oaks. They were great.
