Totally agree. Funeral violence after a gang member is buried is de rigueur. If you don't know how DC works, don't comment.

Not sure if you are a troll, but i have a serious question. If violence after a gang member funeral is so de rigueur, then wouldn’t mpd be missing an opportunity by not posting an officer to the funeral?

Do you never ever watch police dramas on TV or movies?

When someone is murdered and if the crime is yet unsolved, there is ALWAYS a cop at the funeral. More likely plain clothes but uniformed also in some cases. Police can be dumb but this isn’t rocket science cops have known for centuries that some murderers tend to enjoy the opportunity to wallow in the fallout of their handiwork.

Also I should add that many homicide cops attend funerals out of respect for the victims, too. Obviously they can’t always but in this regard what you see on the shows and movies is a reflection of how homicide detectives behave IRL. When you can show respect for the family and also use that opportunity to observe the other attendees and scope out body language etc., that’s a win win for murder police.

"You're right - dead people should be allowed to carry. Dead good guys with guns to stop bad guys with guns."

- some Republican, somewhere, refusing as always to do anything sensible about gun violence.

I think the corpse is already dead.

NP. They did. "Metropolitan Police Chief Robert Contee said a police officer was stationed near the funeral home in northeast Washington where the service was held when the gunfire broke out around 12: 30 p.m."

I've only been to a handful of funeral homes, and not that one. But c'mon, a shooting at a funeral home? That's next level.
