I didn’t register for fine China, silver or crystal because we had all of that from DH’s family but I’m still annoyed that nobody bought us any place settings of the Denby pattern I registered for to use for everyday—I have a huge Catholic family and I know my mom always bought a couple of place settings for all of my cousins’ weddings. I ended up buying Fiestaware after the wedding and we’re still using it 24 years later.

Camp chairs—gift from DH’s cousins who were much older and acted as surrogate parents when we were first married and living across the country from our own parents. We use those camp chairs every week at our kids’ soccer games.

We'll celebrate our 35th anniversary in September. We like to cook and host family and friends often, but we almost never use our beautiful china and crystal. The wedding gifts that we do use frequently -- some almost daily -- are more casual serving pieces, including bowls of all sizes, platters and trays. We also still use a set of copper pots and pans that my HS friends gave us. And, for years, we used the Cuisinart that my godmother gave us; it was a workhorse and when it went to that big appliance garage up in the sky, I immediately replaced it and bought a mini one as well. Our oldest DC and our soon-to-be DIL have been on the wedding guest circuit for the past couple of years. It's been interesting to me that most of their friends have not only not used registries, but have asked that guests forego gifts. For those who have registered, the gifts requested are strictly for casual entertaining.

Silverware. Also a cake stand which gets used for birthdays even if I don’t make cake - it just adds something to presentation to see neatly stacked brownies, cookies, or even pie.

take this with a grain of salt but I was married 35 years ago. Formal China a joke. I guess it made it easy for people to buy a gift.

Best gift - coffee grinder with two very cool mugs. I still have the grinder and remind my aunt that it's the only gift I have left - hers.

I still have my fancy-casual white china from Crate and Barrel, It’s lasted 25 years! Never went with formal china even though old fogey women told me I’d regret it - so glad. For our lifestyle friends and family it would have been such a waste! The good thing these days is you can literally register for anything you want, to match you and your spouse’s lifestyle, hobbies, anything goes. Have fun with it!

We still use our china, silverware, and stemware.

Two gifts we received (not on our registry): intricate silver wine bottle coaster and Christofle cake cutter engraved with our names and wedding date (we use it for holidays and all birthdays and family events that involve cake).

We registered for nice towels and luggage. Both were useful.
