OP, I enjoy my workouts a lot more when I ignore the part of me that wants to critique what everyone else is doing. Depending on the day, there may be a lot to criticize about my form or my exercise selection (deadlifting every time I’m in the gym, for example), so why should I expect others to be perfect?

Some people are naturally apples with bigger upper bodies and trunks and skinny legs.

Look at Meghan Markle. Her legs are disproportionately skinny compared to her blockier trunk.

You aren't doing it right then. Clearly the thousands of other weight lifters who do leg and butt workouts and who see results prove whatever you're doing is wrong. If you are truly working out your lower body and cannot see results in your hamstrings, glutes, and quads, that's 100% on your workout.

Nope. Bodies are different, as a PP said. I’m a mid-40s women who builds muscle easily and looks “jacked” in my upper body and core (as per the many “do you CrossFit” comments I get when I wear tank tops). My legs wouldn’t be that defined absent an obsessive focus on reducing my body fat to unhealthy levels since, like many women, that’s where my fat accumulates.

Again: bodies are different, largely due to genetics. Workouts and reasonable diets, especially ones for non-professional athletes, only get you so far.

Do you really think they care what you think?

I have multiple leg injuries (dislocated patella, fractured fibula) and my doctor told me to take it easy on the legs.

I don’t think they see themselves the way everyone else does. Like an Oliver Sacks thing. All that matter to some of them is to have a jacked upper body, maybe abs and the rest who cares.

Because I find it very difficult to believe that someone’s body is able to build mega muscles up top but nothing beneath. They’re just not putting the same effort in on leg day.

I'm a woman with a very thin upper body. No matter how much I lift and work out, my arms will always look like chicken arms. I cannot accumulate muscle there.

Yet by virtue of doing chores and running about with my dogs, I have muscled legs.

Every body builds muscle differently, OP.

Not one person misunderstood the meaning of the title because it said workout instead of work out.

Angry you spent $150k in student loan debt for an English major to make sentence diagrams that haven't been relevant to anyone's life since 3rd grade?
