It can be difficult to find bedding for Full XL. My son had a furnished college apartment (complex was owned by the university and was specifically for college students) that had a full XL bed and it was tough to find sheets. I loathe polyester sheets and the only place I could find 100% cotton in full XL was with those weird brands on Amazon. Most of the parents on the parents facebook page said they just used Queen bedding for the full XL.

Twin XL for sure. Be nice to your son's future partner, and train your boy early not to hog a big bed!

My 6'4" brother had a twin xl. Best option if you can't accommodate a queen.

He is super skinny, just tall. No room for a queen size.

You can get a full XL. We got it for my teen who is 6-4. A queen is the same length as a twin or full XL but the width of a queen wouldn’t fit in his room.

My 12yo is growing like mad and is nearly 5ft 11in. I need to get him big kid furniture and can't decide what size bed to get. Option 1....twin XL which will easily fit in his room and add length, but seems like an unusual size. Option 2, full size which will fit, be a little tight, and doesn't actually add any length. Do people get their tall teens XL beds or is that just a college dorm thing (only time I remember beds that size)
