Why Key? It seems like they have offered less spots than the other schools in the past..

Agree that Key is your best shot. The only way you might get a spot at Mann is if they end up with more in-boundary kids than they anticipated, wind up with really large 3rd grade classes that force them to add another 3rd grade classroom (assuming the building has the space for another class).

Op where do you live? Or do you stay at home. It is a rough commute to those schools from anywhere in dc that doesn't have equivalent schools (aka a school other than a deal or Hardy feeder, or even Ross).

highly doubt 24 kids plus whoever jumps ahead of you by enrolling a sibling will all turn it down. And since the school has to accept any kids who move IB, they don't have much of an incentive to take kids off the WL and risk overcrowding.
