Bingo bango. She is in grad school, she can make her own decisions.
What if she has no experience buying a car (or negotiating) and will get ripped off or spend the money on something that is impractical, fast depreciating, or expensive to insure?
Not everyone is a car expert or has any interest in cars beyond having one for transportation.
If I were buying any of my kids a car we would minimally have a conversation about what they want and what I'm willing to pay for. I can't imagine what horrible decision my son could make if I wired him 30K for a car and said "knock yourself out, kid!" Talk about a terrible idea.
They can make mistakes with *their* money. They don't need to make mistakes with *your* money.
