I had one at 17 and it was life changing. I am really grateful to my parents for listening to me and taking me seriously, and understanding what it meant to me (I did not wake up one more and randomly decide I wanted this; my nose was big and disproportionate and something that had bothered me for years). It made a WORLD of difference to my confidence. I don’t know what your teen looks like, but for me I had nice facial features otherwise and took good care of myself etc, but when you have a big misshapen nose right in the middle of your face that’s what stands out, and there’s not really anything you can do about it. Except surgery, they is - I have never regretted it for a second, I instantly felt so much better and more like myself. I’m 38 now and have never even considered any other type of plastic surgery, fwiw

I got one at 16.

I'm not into appearances - I don't wear much makeup or designer clothes, and neither does my mom. I won't even touch Botox now, in my 40s. But it was life changing for me. I was bullied, I sat in the back of the classroom, I hid my face with my hair. My confidence was non existent.

I was able to finish HS and go off to college without that weight of thinking - and being told - I was hideous.

I still look in the mirror and think "I wish my __ was a little more __" but regular insecurities - nothing like the nose, and nothing I would take to the extreme of surgery again.

Teenagers’ noses often look disproportionately large on their faces. I can’t believe there are doctors who would even do this before 18 at a minimum.

Wow these responses are harsh. The teen isn't asking for a BMW. This is something she has no control over that affects her self esteem. Glas OP is considering it.

My friend had a nose job at 13 to remove a hump on her nose. It's crazy how something so simple completely changed her appearance (for thr better).

I got one at age 18 and it was actually life changing. I had a nice face, an out of proportion nose that was making me invisible, and after the nose job I had people stop me on the street to tell me I was the most beautiful person they had ever seen! I'm sure my life trajectory is completely different than it otherwise would have been. I had a really excellent surgeon who gave me a natural looking medium sized nose. Lots to share, good and bad, lots of confusion, but I would 💯 do it again. I wish I had done it at 16.

This. Consult a surgeon. Had two friends in HS who got nose jobs between sophomore and junior years and they were fine.

And does have a big nose that is out of proportion to face - I get it - but way too young! Best way to help a kid love the nose they have, for now?
