Yeah the frozen ones are turning up everywhere now. I’ve tried making them from packets and they’re not as good.

We started with the kit, then moved on to our version of hmart which has the boba pearls in syrup in jars. So check out the jarred areas and not the tea section.

I've gotten large tapioca at h Mart but it wasn't quick cooking. In fact it took longer to cook than most online recipes indicated. It was the white kind, not the brown, so maybe that matters. Best timing was when there was a tiny bit of bright white left in the ball so it could finish getting clear off the heat.

Maybe Hmart?

My middle schooler LOVES bobo. But it is expensive, so I thought we could make it at home for him and his friends. I've found loads of recipes, but am lacking a source for good large, quick-cooking tapioca pearls. I dislike buying food products from Amazon because it just feels sketchy at best, and most packages don't even seem to give ingredients (or are in Chinese or Japanese, which I can't read). Any recommendations?
