I got one a few weeks ago and it's ok. At first, I thought it was amazing and I'd never shave again. But it wasn't totally effective, and you aren't supposed to use it very often (like once a week is recommended), so it isn't a substitute for shaving like I hoped it would be. My experience was fine, but there are tons of folks online who had horrendous reactions -- some even ended up in the hospital. Not worth it, in my opinion.

I used a different brand if the (found on Amazon). Works well for me except for bikini line, armpits or areas around the knees that are hard to get to. Big benefit is you don’t have to be in the shower to use it. Good got touch-ups as well. For whatever reason, stubble on my thighs bothers me more than on my calves, so I like to be able to touch that area up for comfort sake.

I have super coarse hair (Nair, etc doesn't work), but I want to try it for my 12 year old.

This thing has been around since the 90s, but with different names. Its not really a device, it just rubs off the hair on your legs. They used to have it at CVS/Target.

Not painful, you just need to apply pressure. The surface is smooth.

Honestly I would just tell her when she’s ready for a razor she can have one.

Or does anyone have another recommendation for a device for a preteen who isn’t quite ready to shave?

I’m getting adds on Facebook for a little plastic device called bleame for hair removal. Anybody tried it? Is it safe? Painless? My preteen wants to have hairless legs but is not ready to use a razor.
