or alternately, if it is not exposed, it will be fine. My cat chipped one of her long teeth when she lunged at a squirrel the other side of a window and landed awkwardly. The vet looked at it and said it wasn't a deep enough loss to matter and only if it later turned brown should we have concern. That was 8 years ago, still fine.
