X1000 I’d find my joy elsewhere. And work to make my job interesting by writing articles, start a blog, expand my role, create something at work.

Op, I’ve been in your spot before. I actually think it’s the best opportunity to do what you want within your organization. Get involved with your company’s philanthropic activities.

I have a job that is super boring work from home and pays $250 K. I am in my early 50s and I am totally coasting at work. Life is too busy.

I'll be working for about 10 more years and definitely coasting in my job that pays well for my field but a lot less than OP. I think occasionally about a switch but have a great team, wonderful boss, my company does good things, my job is totally flexible and I'm finally at the point where I have a lot of vacation time. Yeah, the day to day job has gotten boring but I'm not up for risking losing everything good about what I have.

Your job is part of your life. I get meaning from my work and from my life outside of work.
I don’t make as much as OP but my life is great. No regrets.

The reason I suggested OP not coast is because mental stimulation is what keeps dementia away. It'd be great to learn a new skill set in your late 40's. My dad is 75 and teaching himself Spanish, and re-teaching himself piano after retiring two months ago. He's keeping his brain sharp.

Maybe you could work from home, get paid a bit more, travel around the same, and just be busier while working from home and more mentally engaged. Might as well find out, right?

I have a well paying job 400K where I WFH and travel a little bit, but not so heavy that it throws my work life balance off. It’s a pretty easy gig. I’m late 40s and always planned to retire before 60. I can coast in this job until the sunset. But jeepers I am bored to death. I’m regularly courted by exec recruiters for other jobs, not sure if I want to make one last jump or not. For those who were in similar positions, what did you do…? coast, or pursue the different job that was more engaging, but also more work, time commitment etc?
