Hi all, I'm new to this group so not sure if this type of post is allowed. But knowing how much many of us stress about paying for these treatments, I just wanted to share a recent article I saw about the possible introduction of a DC bill that would make it a requirement for private/public insurers to cover 3x rounds of IVF.
It was introduced in 2022 and didn't go anywhere, but I reached out to Councilmember Henderson (who introduced it last year) and her staff says that they are planning on reintroducing it this year. She is also head of the Health Committee this year, so I think that makes it more likely for it to move out of committee this time around.
Her staff didn't ask for any specific action, but I think sending at least a note to her and whoever represents your ward can't hurt. If others have ideas for more coordinated action, please let me know.
