What make and model is it?

It may well be performing as designed, which you'd know from your test drives before the purchase. Now, you can ask to drive the same model from the dealer's lot, to see if it performs similarly.

Many hybrids are econocars which place a high priority on fuel efficiency and a low priority on performance. That design compromise suits some people and their driving styles and preferences, others not so much. Most pure EVs have brisk and instantaneous acceleration, some more than others, but hybrids often rely first on a small gasoline powered engine which is supplemented on demand by the battery which makes it a hybrid. The pause you feel is probably the gap between your asking more from the gas engine than it can provide, and the electric motor kicking in to try to answer the mail.

Chances are you actually wanted something with a higher emphasis on performance (acceleration) but focused instead on price point, fuel economy, and smaller size, which all tend to be characteristics incompatible with sporty performance.

No, first time with this brand. Most expensive car I’ve ever owned. $75k. Hate the hesitation from a stop. It’s terrifying turning left and pulling into busy traffic from a stop. But I feel like I’m overreacting wanting to get rid of it so quickly.

No, it doesn’t have start-stop. There’s just a delay on the throttle when you push the gas. It’s not every time. It’s a hybrid car. I’m just over it.

Yeah after 8 months I am finally used to shutting that feature off every time I drive. I absolutely hate it.

Try pushing the button to turn off the thing with the A with the circle around it. It basically turns the car off when you stop and makes a delay in starting up again. You’ll have to push the button every time you restart the car.

Does it happen every time? If so then it sounds like you are t describing it to them in a way they understand what you’re trying to convey. If it is t always happening, they might not be able to recreate it.
