There's no party like a University of Scranton party!

Those are all very competitive schools. The town is less of a draw back because… it’s Yale.

When we visited, my son had zero background knowledge of Scranton other than the office. He said he liked the cool architecture of the city. The old train station hotel we stayed in was very cool.

It is one of the nicest campuses we visited. They've spend tons of money updating it. Not sure what photos you saw. The upperclass dorms were very nice.

Overwhelmingly white (about 77%). Practical business & health related majors are the most popular.

Good point.

I'll take Williamstown or New Haven. The U of Scranton is near a major Interstate & the Poconos.

Just no to Lewiston, Maine. No.

A friend’s kid is there and likes it. They live in CT so definitely not going home on weekends. All their kids have gone to Catholic colleges.

Why don’t you go visit it?

Thanks!

Pollution? Not sure why you'd think that, but no.

Many family members went to U of S and loved it there. Town is safe but aging.

My teen has several teachers who attended there and LOVED it. I can’t speak to the location or other details.

University of Scranton is an excellent school. Jesuit institution in the Hill section of Scranton. The University is increasing it’s footprint in the Hill section, however students who choose to live off campus often live in the newer loft apartments downtown. I used to live in Scranton, now in DC. I would not hesitate to send my DD there.
