We got the same for a while, after my husband stupidly chatted with them for a few minutes. Eventually they stopped coming by. I would guess you gave some indication at some point that you might be receptive, even if all you did was be polite.

In the past when I've answered the door, or if I happen to be outside when they come I listen politely and then say no thanks. Then they say their spiel again and again I say no thanks. Then they usually try one more time and finally, they accept that I'm not coming to their church and don't want to have a lengthy discussion. I think I've been pretty patient and kind with them.

Maybe; my entire neighborhood is black. I live in Ward 8 in DC.

It doesen't make a difference, really. I was just really curious as I had never seen them do that before.

I was sitting at my kitchen island drinking coffee and watching the news. I watched them pull up, saw them get out of their car, ring my bell, etc. I didn't move from where I was sitting once. I ignored them because in the past they've been very aggressive in their pitch. I was not in the mood and I was still in my PJs, no bra, and hair a mess.

We are a black family with no weird or odd symbols on our house.

They don't come often, once every few years (or more). Do they have some sort of database they keep for houses where they are not welcome?

I’ve had them at my door. I was raised Catholic and am now agnostic.

They look for Jews, in my experience.

I just watched a car pull up on my street; a nicely dressed man and woman got out, and they came to my door and knocked. They knocked again and then rang the doorbell, and stood there for about a minute before leaving. I could tell they were JW's, which is why I didn't answer the door. We get them occasionally in our neighborhood; nothing strange about that. They left a pamphlet on my door and then got back in their car and drove off. Why would they only knock on my door? Any other time Ive seen them, they knock on every door on my block. I live in DC, and they had MD tags, but the pamphlet was for a service at a temple in my neighborhood. Why would they come specifically to my house only?
