Anonymous wrote:If you're "surprised" that it's at 121% capacity, you either haven't been at the school long or haven't been paying attention. Each grade has 7 classrooms, with the exception of K with 4 (and they really need 5). This has been an issue for at least 5 years, if not longer.
I really don't get the kid gloves about rezoning. There are a lot of easy areas to rezone, one of which is the block mentioned as closer to Haycock. It's a shame we can't all be in the building.

Nobody should be crying about getting rezoned to franklin sherman, chesterbrook, haycock. It will be easier and better for everyone if the zoning is recalibrated. All of these schools are in the pyramid and are all equally as good if not better than KG. Part of the zoning for KG should go to Churchill, which is Langley district. Boo hoo it will raise their property values.
While they are at it, they should fix the dumb Churchill/Spring Hill zoning.
You seem cranky but also misinformed.
No one zoned for Kent Gardens lives on the same block or street as Haycock; no one from Kent Gardens should be rezoned to Churchill Road (they can move some KG kids to Chesterbrook or Franklin Sherman); and you seem to have an inflated view of the significance of a Churchill Road address.
If they want to do something to address some of the weird Churchill Road/Spring Hill boundaries, that would probably make sense, but it’s a separate project.
