Crap like this is why tipping is actually decreasing across the board https://www.cnn.com/2023/03/25/business/tipping-trends/index.html

It's cheap if you are just writing it in, give a buck in cash instead.

If you dine in, I would tip 20%.

If you take out, $1 is probably fine.

At $12-$15 that sand which is already carrying enough markup without an additional tip.

I did $1.50 today for a $19 lunch order. Prices are already outrageous and I'm no longer adding 15 to 20% for takeout.

Is it table service? If so, quite cheap. If you order at the counter and take your food to the table, it's just acceptable.

I don't have a regular spot like you, but I always wonder if I'm supposed to tip or not. I usually don't and wonder if the cashier talks sh*t after I leave.

That's $1 more than adequate.

I think it’s fine in the abstract but if I were a regular anywhere I wouldn’t want to be the notably cheap one so I’d personally leave more.

When I’m a regular anywhere I want to be a liked regular.

I refuse to tip more unless it's table service. For to go, they are doing the same amount of work as fast food workers who never get tipped.
