I don’t do laundry for DD 11. I have seen her wearing the same sweatpants for three weeks. I still don’t do laundry for her.

LOL Not doing my kids' laundry is so easy. Especially at this age. Eventually, he'll get tired of rummaging for clothes, he'll figure it out.

At 17, he’s probably not far from being in the same situation in his college dorm, and you won’t be there to bail him out. You can remind him, but I definitely wouldn’t do it for him.

Remind him when he comes home. I personally just tell my son when to do his laundry because he would not see wearing dirty clothes as a bad thing. The poor kid sitting next to him in class might mind.

DS wears dirty clothes. He’s been doing his own laundry for 4 years but has been slacking off lately. I’ve offered to do it for him and he says no. So he can deal with the social consequences.

This is one parenting issue I don’t find the least bit difficult. Do your laundry or wear dirty clothes.

FFS - my kids all did their own laundry at 11. OP, don’t do it.

My kids do their own laundry (13 and 18). I don't care if they wear dirty clothes. They don't do their laundry they wear dirty clothes that week. T

hey wear uniforms so it makes it a bit easier, but they have to suck it up if they're dirty. I honestly have no idea if what they wear was picked off the floor or is clean. They come out of their rooms dressed.

This is one area where I am dropping the ball meaning I let them drop the ball and they have to live with the consequences. So this morning. my son was wearing shorts with some long sleeves dress shirt. Looking really handsome! He had forgotten to do laundry last night.
