Sneakers for the walking tour!

Whatever your kid is comfortable wearing. It literally makes no difference what they wear.

My only suggestion would be comfortable shoes, because you are walking a lot. Pretty sure DS only wore athletic shorts and hoodies (even to MI and Northwestern in February), and DD always wears these stupid high heeled boots. She likes them, I hate them. Whatever - it's her feet. I'm always in tennis shoes

What? Your HS child doesn’t wear sweat pants or jogger? Are they in private?

DP. This person is crazy. Even my private kid gets days they can ditch their uniform skirt and wear sweatpants. It's a "can your skirt" day where they bring in canned goods to donate.

I'm guessing she dresses her kids.

I wouldn't let my teen wear sweats, but I know I'm the outlier. No PJ bottoms either.

Nice jeans and a non-offensive top, with comfortable shoes.

DS and I came to the agreement that he could wear t-shirts and shorts - clean - on college tours and a polo or flannel with jeans for interviews. I tend to fret here as I think some older college admissions staff, often female, may have opinions. OTOH, our DS has great manners and I decided that whatever may be failing with his sartorial choices may be offset with his generally respectful deportment.

Clothes are a good start.

Casual with walking sneakers. Something for rain, if need be, because the college might run out of ponchos. Nothing offensive.

Shoes that let you keep up with the tour!

Nothing offensive

I think unless your outfit is super memorable, it's not going to get commented on. I think that tour guide feedback is only an issue if you are super memorable.

But if you dress like a college student, they won't notice.

Also don't go decked out in Texas Longhorn orange to TAMU or something like that.

I made my first kid dress kind of nice and then I saw what everyone else wore. For my second, I just said no ripped jeans. If there I an interview, though, they should be nicer (more like business casual).

Does not matter for tours.

Avoid the sweatshirt of another college.

No one cares on tours but if interviewing I would strive for shirt and maybe a khaki pant or black pant.
