I’ve made the Martha Stewart Cannoli Cake twice for Easter’s, and it’s lighter than traditional cake and delicious. This is how I’ve styled it for Easter https://www.instagram.com/p/BwlSlYHhvBg/?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y=

I like citrus based desserts at this time of year, since it's too early for good strawberries and I haven't seen any rhubarb yet. So if you're doing pavlova you could top it with lemon curd and whipped cream.
If you've always made traditional lemon tart, Pierre Herme's lemon cream tart is a delicious alternative.
Claire Saffitz's blood orange olive oil cake is great too, even with regular oranges.

I’m not a baker so for us it’s almost always a store bought angel food cake with fresh strawberries.

Maybe I’m kitschy, but I love a good carrot cake on Easter! I made this one some years back and it was delectable!

We do this or angel food cake with strawberries and whipped cream. It's not my personal favorite, but can't get much lighter than angel food cake! We've also melted down the Easter chocolate to dip the strawberries in. A little gruesome when it's big bunnies melting in a double boiler.

What are some of your favorite lighter spring desserts for Easter dinner?

My go to are key lime pie, lemon tart, coconut cake, or strawberry cheesecake, but I want to try something different this year. We’re doing a traditional ham and sides dinner so something that “matches” would work well (versus something more international like tiramisu or German chocolate cake). I’d love to find one dessert that works for four adults and one three year old without having to do an alternative. I’d say I’m a medium-level baker. TIA!
