One thing that has freed me is Amazon. Can you imagine what a PITA it would be to try to buy popsicle molds in a store? Almost nothing you might purge is irreplaceable now and replacing most of it will be really easy. So there’s a $ and environmental cost but I have not had to replace much and the big purge was definitely worth it.

It was a popsicle mold **ducks**

Obvs it did not cost $50, that’s just my running total. The other thing was hooks for the garage that I’m pretty sure I purged thinking I didn’t need any more.

Did you have 2 blenders, donated the extra blender b/c it took up space/unused, and now you wish you had it b/c your 1st one just died?

You should have a tertiary blender in case the backup fails. What happens during a blending emergency?

Having only three could be playing with fire if you're having a margarita party and there's a power surge.

Seven blenders minimum. This girl is not getting caught blender-less at any cost.

I store mine on DH's side of the closet. Moved his clothes to the garage. It works for us.

Come on, OP! You can't just drop a bomb like this and not tell us the item and the circumstances that necessitated you replacing it!

I've had the experience of being unable to find something, going out and buying another one, and then having to decide where to put it away, and when I put it away the first one is right there.

Here's what I like to tell myself: Imagine if you could have that item back, but you had to also take back everything that you got rid of. Would you take that deal?

Good job! The serenity and peace you have had in your physical space is certainly worth 50 dollars!

It was a kitchen item. My running total for replacing things I purged is now about $50 two years after the big clean out. Worth it! I still had to convince my brain. But logically I know it’s worth it.
