Don’t you think it’s too late for that? That should have occurred before the 17th. Do you really think you’re going to offer more spaces?
It isn’t too late until admissions tells you they have the class filled with contracts signed. I’m not trying to give false hope- it’s a small chance, but you won’t ever get a spot unless you at least try what PP did above. They will not string you along if there is no chance.

Sure it would have been better before but OP is asking for advice now. I think it can’t hurt and still holds true- they want to offer spots to kids who will attend. FWIW, I know others who got into BVR this year who also strongly said it was their first choice throughout the process.
