As a mom with difficult curly hair, I would absolutely spend $100 for a curly cut and styling lesson if I had a daughter with hair like mine. I wish I had learned how to style my hair when I was younger. That said, my tween/teen boys are fine with somewhat messy unstyled curly hair, as long as they get regular cuts and I can't imagine them using product.

+1 I'm a woman with curly hair, but I also go to Bang at Logan (I see Brennan). He can recommend products and is good at styling my curly hair (which is saying something--before I started going to him, I never wanted to go anywhere after a haircut except home to wash it).

If he's one of their Expert Stylists, is that about $100 too?

Has he asked for this? Is he not sure of what to do with his hair, or is it Mom/Dad who doesn't like how he's wearing it?

Yes, and? Do it once, they'll teach him how to properly care for his curls and what products to use. Then buy larger sizes of the products at Ultra or Amazon.

$100 for a teen is flat out ridiculous. That is 4x more than DH spend and even my salon is only $60 for me (cut and dry).

Your husband pays $25 for a hair cut in the DMV?

Barber shop: $25

Yes, it sure is ridiculous. Especially as it’s short hair. I wouldn’t never spend $100 on a teen boy’s haircut.

Thanks for any leads.

Just get him a buzz cut then.

Where are you located? Rockville (not downtown, on the Pike) has Oasis, and DC has Fiddleheads. Both exclusively cut curly hair and can instruct your son and make product recommendations
