Makes sense. Especially as Bethesda and CC vote for people who refuse to arrest or prosecute criminals. If I were a criminal I’d do my crime in criminal friendly Bethesda and CC too.

Actually, BCC tends to be more conservative. You must be referring to TP/SS folks who spend their lives complaining about something.

Why do you keep posting that folks are from Virginia? That it is incomprehensible to you that a significant number of Montgomery County residents have issues with what's going on here? We live here. We see how it's changed.

Does this change anyone’s opinion on gun owner rights? Do they need be more liberal so it’s easier for people to defend themselves or should they be more conservative (making it harder to acquire) as gun introduction will incite and or exacerbate violence into otherwise minor crimes?

Most of the guns used in crime in DMV are not legally owned. I think the government should focus on getting rid of illegally owned guns. 99% of registered gun owners in DMV do not use their guns to commit violent car jacking.

I hope you will agree that any violent crime is horrific for the innocent victims and that the perpetrators should not be free to commit more crimes.

Go take a look over at reddit. They are having a field day posting daily crime threads in the DC subreddit.

We had an armed robbery in my neighborhood and the person was apparently alternating between our neighborhood and Bethesda, according to police officers. There were also three armed robberies in Rockville this calendar year. There is random stuff happening everywhere.

This is a super dumb question but how do they steal keyless cars? My car has no key—just an app on my phone. So even if they took the phone they could only drive it one drive and then wouldn’t be able to turn it on again. And we could track it on the app. Are these types of cars basically theft proof?

+1 not only can you get more bang for your buck, but it’s a haven for criminals. If you were to get caught, it would most likely be a slap on the wrist and you would be out the next day.

Violent car jacking. Bethesda traditionally has been semi-insular, relatively affluent, with reasonably low crime but with its rapid growth is experiencing more hard crime.
