I was going to say this sounds like a blue line thing.

I didn't become a long time metro rider because I was on the blue and yellow lines. Blue was always stopped in Rosslyn and Yellow would get stuck in the tunnel and turn off the AC at least once a week even 10 years ago.

Regular red line rider here, and I haven't noticed this. If anything, it's gotten better in the last few years.

The green line does this. They’ll also run super slow for a while too. Not sure if it’s because of the yellow line trackwork, but it is frustrating.

I don’t see this either. But it f you want to check whether your impression is reality, Metro puts out on time statistics.

This hasn’t been my experience on the red line. The only time I’ve had a wait that long is late at night, when the last trains on each run wait at the transfer stations so that people can change trains.

I am a regular red line rider and find that it has gotten much better since Safe Track. Other than an occasional issue, my commutes have been fine. They were awful during much of 2014-2017 though.

I’m only commuting once a week but I haven’t experienced this on the red line recently.

I’ve commuted by Metro for 25 years. I don’t know what happened, but in the past year it has become extremely common to just sit in the tracks for 10 minutes at a time or longer. I’d say it happens at least once a week? What is going on? What has changed?
