No. But we're not talking about unringing bells. OP can call the school and say they declined and realized they made a mistake. Can't hurt to try.

I think some admissions directors would be understanding, while others will have moved on. You never know until you ask and there is no harm in asking.

I’m not so sure about that.

It’s easier for them to take a kid they already accepted than to go through administrative pain associated with going to the WL. In extending the original offer of admittance they judged that this was a better candidate than the kid they put on the WL.

The delta between the last 1/2 admitted kids and the top 1-2 in the wait pool is almost nil. I’d rather take the kid who wants to be at my school and family..

I’m guessing OP declined the school but was it for an acceptance, or a spot on the WL? If WL decline they might allow you back on but I’d say your chances are even smaller than usual (and they are already vanishingly small). If you declined an acceptance I think it’s very unlikely they would let you reverse that, especially at this stage when they’ve likely started going to the WL if they needed to, but if you have an extremely compelling reason, they might listen.

+1

OP: Please clarify your question.

Poster said decline which means OP declined an admissions spot. If he meant the other alternative, he would have used the word reject.

Depends on whether they have already given your space to someone else and probably your reason and how much they really want your kid.

Depends on how important you are.

Is this something you want to do? I would email now and call as soon as possible on Monday morning....

After that I would think impossible

Unlikely without a really, really good reason (beyond, I changed my mind)
