Please tell me more about Romania, I was only born there and visit yearly. This is absolutely laughable. “Huge” portions of Romania are not, in fact, not reachable by car. There are in fact many roads, because they would not have been admitted in the EU if the whole country was a giant mud pit as you claim.Also, their internet speed, coverage and accessibility puts the US to absolute shame. Not to mention affordability of healthcare, college, and parental leave. But you know, that’s a different discussion.

Iraq is totally underrated. But, it is difficult for women outside of Kurdistan. If you get married and your husband dies, they make you marry a brother. It's low-key illegal to be a single mom. And if you can't find a permanent marriage, you have to take term-limited contract marriages. Ugh, no thanks.

Have you been to Romania. It's not so bad. I wouldn't move there - but if you were in the foreign service or something then Bucharest would be fine for a couple of years.

Well you are able to post stuff like this and the police do not come and arrest you. We will be like those other countries soon….make sure you have a low party number. It will prove your loyalty.

Romania or Iraq? I read & hear this sentiment often. Why would we compare ourselves to developing countries, especially when it comes to women’s rights? Shouldn’t we aim to compare ourselves to peer countries instead? When I hear this sentiment, it comes across as, “be grateful you’re not wearing a head covering.”
