He was the circus. I'm convinced he's corrupt.

He’s very sought after and left for the private sector. He’s still fine with the mayor. They’ll still be close.

This made my day. For those of us in DC gov, it was always suspect that he had two jobs that could be in conflict. Everything g coming out of him was just a PR job. Lots of chatter about stuff but I’m assuming there is an investigation on going. He is showing his “loyalty”by resigning before shit hits the fan. Whe. You have your hands in the many pots, you are bound to get some dirt on them.

Here are some possibilities
- we have been waiting for the indictment of Neil Albert, former chair of the housing authority, for quite a while. he could be mixed up in those awards that were channeled to Albert's gf. John f was serving on the board at the same time and likely had knowledge
- the housing authority hq was sold to a developer well below market with limited affordable housing. that wasn't a dmped disposition but I am sure it crossed his desk
- the silly cherry blossom bus seemed very suspicious
or maybe this is just a #metoo situation but I think thats less likely

if that were the case his departure would have been announced months before he left. his predecessor also took a private sector job, but it was handled smoothly. John f just didn't turn up to work

No idea but it has to be egregious. Bowser values loyalty above all else and has stood by her senior officials when the wrongdoing was minor (Courtney Snowden, Antwan Wilson, etc)

John Falcicchio has abruptly left the Bowser administration. At the time of his leaving, he served as both Bowser's Chief of Staff and as Deputy Mayor for Economic Development. At one time, he also was a member of the District of Columbia Housing Authority. Falcicchio was also a key player in Bowser's election and reelection campaigns. So, this is a pretty extraordinary development with absolutely no explanation of which I am aware.
I met Falcicchio several years ago and found him to be extremely decent person although we were not necessarily on the same side of things. From a distance, I always thought he was among the most competent of Bowser's appointees. I'm sorry to see him go.
