Actual MSDE is behind.

MSDE should change the requirement so '25 does not have to deal with this nonsense!

+1 How the heck can they make it a requirement when they don't even have the curriculum. Seriously?

And they can’t/won’t even say for certain when it will be available in summer school or virtually. My IB diploma-track sophomore is still in limbo, both schedule-wise and summer job-wise, with regard to their next two years.

Mine too. The thought of squeezing this class in and then having to take another arts class to balance the year is infuriating. Health/ceramics or econA/econB. I even emailed msde a few months ago and they indicated it would be available in person this summer, but no guarantees for online option.

Exactly. Mine was resigned to slogging through the in-person Health B this summer because we were told that would be available, and planned this year and the next two with that in mind.

Yes. Do the online one, if your kid is OK with it. Most of the work is busy-work anyway, so there’s no point in sitting in a classroom half the summer. A few hours a week online, and they can cram the rest of the work in whenever they want. They could still keep a job or attend camps if they’re organized and self-directed.

They have said this multiple times. One reason is they don’t have a curriculum yet.

not op, but yes. Frees up schedule during the school year. Hopefully, MCPS will get their act together and offer Health B by the time your kid is a junior.

This is disappointing as our high school told us that it would be offered. Based on this erroneous info, several rising juniors who have already taken health A have to squeeze a semester class into their already submitted schedules. There aren't many semester options to pair this class with if you already completed your electives. I don't understand why they can't get their act together and teach this worthless class over the summer. And calling it "honors" is a joke.
