we are moving soon from a country in Southeast Europe to America. we are coming because of my husband's work.he will be working near the white house. we are looking to buy a house and we like alexandria, virginia. the houses we saw belong to highfield secondary school. the son will start the 7th and the daughter 5thgrade. both are excellent students, the son is interested in mathematics, and daughter in arts. I would be very grateful if someone could tell me what Hayfield school is like. children will live outside our country for the first time. thay have never been in US. English is their second language and they speak it well but not very well. Thank you all in advance for your help

Langley, McLean, Oakton and other HS pyramids (with a good academic ranking) would be a good place to start while considering neighborhoods that would fit your budget and commute.

That applies to any public school nowadays.

This is dumb advice. Children who don't speak English well won't be able to access honors courses. They will be enrolled in ESOL courses of some kind--self contained or team taught depending how they test in.

It’s a very large and diverse school. I have a friend whose child goes there for high school (after attending Procare parochial school through 8th grade). Her child is into the arts and theater. They seem satisfied with Hayfield.
