It says right on website that it's double blind so not seeing why there is any confusion.

We applied to 3 schools. We got into 1 that wasn't really our first choice but that we did really like. We turned it down to play the waitlist at one of the Immersion schools. I am SO GLAD we did, but we are really dedicated to Immersion.

The waitlists at MPSA, ATS and Campbell may only move a few slots at a time. Immersion waitlists tend to move a bit more, though less since they went down to a normal class load (4 vs 6) entering kindergartens.

Each school has it's own lottery. It's possible to be offered spots in more than one but once you accept a spot, you drop off the waitlist at any other school you applied to. Our neighbors were offered spots at 2 schools while we were waitlisted at both schools that we applied to.

No, I meant blind. The lottery is double-blind, which means they randomly draw the student's name and their number at the same time. There is no consideration To which other schools the applicant has applied to, which is OPs question.

It’s a blind lottery. It does not matter.

They encourage you to only apply to one you are really interested in, but they are suppose to be independent of each other. We know people that got into 2 at the same time and had to turn one down. We applied to 2 at one time and only got into one. Kindergarten year we applied to 1 and didn't get in at all. So it is really up to you what you decide to do. I wouldn't just apply for sake of applying though,but onlyvifvyour really inin the school as it bottle necks the lottery waitlist.

Regarding the option schools lottery - are the lotteries independent of one another? Does a child have a better chance of getting in if I only apply to 1 option school because it shows that's the one we are REALLY interested in, or should we apply to multiple ones because it doesn't matter?
