I've been driving the Volvo xc40 while my older car is in the shop. its a hybrid and handles quite nicely.

The only reason I would not buy a hyundai is they are stealing them left and right. If you garage your car then I would consider a Tuscon or Santa Fe.

Whatever is available. Choices are very limited still. You may have to cover a wide geographic area to see a few vehicles. And you may not have much choice about options. Not sure about Subaru, but it was not easy to find a Honda or Toyota.
