Depends on how much conservative (more center or middle would be ideal. )- and find out his views on children, abortion. Been married to a conservative last 16 years and have to say they make great husbands and fathers long term.

Conservative here: sadly I think the world has become too polarized. Men, in general, tend to be live-and-let-live on political issues in their relationships, but IME women often tend to see political disagreements through the lens of “our values are not aligned” and all of your progressive female friends are going to react the way a lot of the people in this thread have, which is going to cause problems.

I can tell you after 20 years of marriage to a man who was a Conservative when we married (I'm a middle of the road Dem, not a Progressive and a Joe Manchin-type probably represents my ideals best), but has since gulped the Fox News kool-aid and is now an election denier, thinks Jan. 6 was no big deal, Tucker Carlson is right about everything, it can be a nightmare. I can not discuss anything political with him because he's grown so extreme.

Friend is married to one. I don’t know how she manages to separate herself from it but she does. He makes the money that makes her liberal progressive job possible with their three kids and gorgeous house.

This part. Everyone is playing shirts and skins these days, and as the GOP gets crazier the rank and file just gets crazy with them. Remember who we all kept being *certain* that sane, principled Republicans would vote against Trump, and they never appeared? They don't exist. This is as sane as this guy is going to be in your lifetime, and it's not a great sign that he's still calling himself conservative in a post-Trump, post-Roe, post-January 6, post-Qanon, post-trying-to-make-raped-11-y/o's-become-mothers era.

How often do you talk politics? If you’re really into it and go on about it daily then no. If you talk about it 2 days before elections then yes probably. Many people don’t care to ever talk politics.

I wouldn't get into a serious relationship with someone whose values don't align with yours. I am a liberal who was married to a "conservative", which was doable in the Bush/Gore era but was a dumpster fire by time Trump rolled around. If you are looking for casual and fun, sure, but I wouldn't plan a future with this guy.
