Evenings are the busiest time for us now (3 kids- tween and young teens). Lots and lots of driving to activities, help with or monitoring of homework, getting stuff together for the next day including making sure everyone knows schedule/pickup time/special plans etc etc. Sometimes will watch a show together but honestly evenings are busy and I have to be “on” most of the time. They do try to leave us alone after 9ish but doesn’t always happen.
On the flip side, we actually have a lot more downtime on weekends than we once did (that is when we get time to relax, watch tv etc). It does depend on the weekend (some are still super busy) but the kids sleep until practically noon when they get the opportunity, and are often gone at sports practices or with friends (and we try to carpool when we can). Some weekends get busier if a lot of sports games but it varies a bit by season. When at home, they often want to relax too, since weekdays are so crazy.
