i had to call in every day for 2 weeks. went in 2x. the federal is much more annoying than DC, they leave you out in the hall for large periods of time and have very little consideration for the jurors. Last time I was there I had the early time to show up and you HAVE to be there on time per the materials and then the people in the office didn't open the door for 30 minutes so everyone was sitting on the floor. Then they had too many jurors so we had to wait in a different hall until the court room was ready v.s. the juror's lounge.

The DC experience has improved quite a bit over the years and the people resp. for dealing with the jurors are usually very nice.

This is federal jury duty, correct? DC Superior Court jury duty is still one day or one trial, as far as I know.

I had to do the two-week call-ins around Thanksgiving and never had to go in (this was U.S. District Court, not DC Superior Court). I may have lucked out due to it being around a major holiday, but I never had to go downtown once. It was kind of annoying because they would not give me a deferment -- they were only allowing medical deferments, with a doctor's note -- so we couldn't really travel for Thanksgiving. But still, nothing happened.

I'm in the beginning of calling in every night for two weeks.
So for they have said "There is no jury selection scheduled for ...." and I don't have to go the next day.
Will I be excused completely soon or will this continue the full two weeks?
It is nerve wracking every day!!
I liked the old "one day, one trial" system better.
