Call the MoCo office. They may have a directory of nonprofit services that can help.

OP - If you live out of the area, your best bet would be to do research in advance and then come out to your folks with appointments set up at a couple of agencies or a couple of geriatric care managers with your folks where they could meet and talk about their needs now and what they might need/like in the future assistance with. Once there is no driver, you really are looking at a direct care service so you want a reputable one and to know the costs ahead of time. Depending upon your parents' age and stages, it might be worth a shot to buy them the simplest electronic device where they might learn to be in touch with you, to order their groceries online for delivery etc. Or work with a geriatric care manager to build a relationship with them and hire the basic service they need now. You might also look around at options for the future on a CCRC, AL, Memory, Skilled Nursing to know what service providers they prefer and what they can afford.

Usually these are mutual aid types of organizations that do take volunteer dollars, but also rely on membership dollars. Since you are far away, you could consult with a geriatric care manager that knows the area better than you do, and can recommend some local, not for profit arrangements (if they exist), or private pay. However, unless your parent is low-income, for most of the US, these are services you will need to pay for.

Yes that is exactly what I'm looking for, however they do not serve my parents area of MoCo. The closest one is in Kensington which is too far.

I know there is volunteer group called Village Network that can help seniors with various tasks - grocery shopping, doctor appts etc., but in my parents' area of MoCo there is no Village Network already established. They are in the Sandy Spring area. Does anyone know if there is another similar group established in that area? Or does anyone have any suggestions of how to find volunteers to help with this tasks? This is new territory for me, and I am across the country so cannot directly assist with these things. My parents are not on Nextdoor, they have zero technology so it's even more difficult.
