World needs math teachers (at both school and college level)and if they are extroverts, its just a double treat for their students. However, if he likes math, he should do math. He can always go for an MBA or actuary or masters afterwards. Its too early to make all future decisions even before starting college. For all you know, he may change his major in a year or two and opt for sports management or physiotherapy.

Unless they have a basketball background, they better have a very impressive degree. Front office analytics jobs are almost impossible to get
There is literally not 1 basketball player who ends up doing their stats.

Definitely math teacher and coach. Also there are math opportunities in sports: stats for the media, sabermetrics, sports betting, the business side of sports teams and stadiums...
Working at a bank or credit union could be good too

DS thinks he wants to major in math--and is very good at it--but doesn't have much sense of what he would do with a math degree. He isn't particularly interested in science, engineering or computers and neither is he the type to be happy behind a desk all day. What he does really love is sports and being active. He's shown some interest in business, but says he doesn't want to be a business major and I'm not sure to what extent math on its own would help with launching a business career.
Honestly, I'm at a bit of a loss on how to guide him. DH is a similar personality-type (although not a math person) and spent a long time floundering after college, eventually falling into a job that he's never loved, so I'm hoping to help DS avoid a similar experience.
Does anyone have thoughts on a possible career path for someone with these skills/interests?
