My dc loves the shoe and so do i. I dont care so much about the outdoor space I think It’s fine. We had a nanny and switched to the shoe and he’s so happy.

You call that room of a side playground under an awning at The Shoe a playground? Lol

My coworkers kids go to children in the shoe and they seem to love it.

We go to wonders and love it very much! And lunch is provider3d! We can walk to the school from our place!

Both my kids have gone through Wonders and we have loved it there. Decent outdoor play space, a good number of long term teachers, solid curriculum - my kids were kindergarten ready by the time they moved on to K. The director is very knowledgeable on child development issues and the place is generally well run.

Interested in hearing people's thoughts on preschools near downtown Bethesda (say, walkable from the metro) that have a good reputation. Looking for options for a 4 year old. Not too picky but having some kind of outdoor space for regular play would be preferable. Not interested in home daycares.

TIA

My kid is going to a summer program at Greentree preschool (across the street from Balduchi plaza) at 10200 Old Georgetown Road). It's a nature-based school (kids are playing outdoors for hours every day, in any weather). They also have music and art and languages (Russian and Spanish).www.creative-learning-school.com

We have had good experiences with both. The cost when we switched was almost exactly the same, but Wonders had the benefit of including lunch, which I think gives it a slight edge. Both have a good PK curriculum.

Thank you! That is helpful.

Meant to add that all both Wonders and the Shoe have their own playgrounds.
