I would hike up Mont Royal a few times for a view in the morning and night, on different days. Have a nice brunch at Beautys or smoked meat sandwich at Schwartz’s. if you are there on a Sunday, hang out with the people drumming and dancing in the afternoon.
Walk along St Denis or St Laurent and have a coffee, see unique shops.
Old Montreal, the Port. Rent a Segway to explore the Port if you’re into that. There will be street performers around. Eat at Gibbys if you like steak and seafood.
See a Cirque de Soleil show.
Go to the Jazz fest, shows start as early as noon on the weekends and mid afternoon Monday to Friday. All the outdoor concerts are free. Buy some food and beer or wine at the festival and enjoy. It’s not just jazz but blues, world music, folk, even rock - concerts are concurrent in the evening so you’ll find something you like. Go everyday if you’re a music lover.
Visit Parc Drapeau and La Ronde amusement park on a weekend day when International fireworks festival is being held and see the fireworks at night.
If you like seeing grand old Victorian houses, rent a city bike and visit Westmount or Outremont.
And the usual more touristy attractions Musee be Beaux Arts, Biodome.
“Have ‘a’ coffee.” LOL.
