A poll by a crime journo answered by the crime journo's followers is not an unbiased sampling

Really? A Black male who knows DC first hand, and his followers who respect him?

Where you from?!

Washington DC. Where I learned political science, which included polling.

It's the delta that matters. What was this poll's numbers in 2015 before all of the progressive reforms took over?

Right. I feel very safe in my neighborhood, but when I want to drive or metro to another part of the city, I lower it down to “somewhat” safe. I have concerns that I didn’t use to have.

How was the WP poll conducted? Who (not housebound) answers their phone? Is this a joke?!

Realtimenews10 is right!

I’n not putting too much stock into this poll considering 3/4 DC’s population is stoned at any given moment.

+1. I feel somewhat safe in my neighborhood. I also think crime is not being taken seriously enough and we need more stringent prosecutions.

Even if I felt "very" safe in my neighborhood I would still find crime a very serious crime overall, because I don't want people in other neighborhoods to live in fear either.

Everyone thinks the WP poll was not very good. No one knows anyone who was polled

Post 03/10/2023 13:23     Subject: Post poll says 3 in 4 D.C. residents feel "very" or "somewhat" safe in their neighborhoods

"More than three-quarters of Washingtonians (77 percent) feel they are “very” or “somewhat” safe from crime in their neighborhoods, up from 69 percent in 2022 and about the same percentage as in November 2019, before the pandemic," the Post reported today: https://www.washingtonpost.com/dc-md-va/2023/03/09/dc-residents-feel-safe-post-schar-school-poll/

But more than 50 percent of D.C. residents say crime in D.C. is an "extremely" or "very" serious problem overall.

Interesting context for the recent developments in D.C. politics...
