Except the people I know who got in later.

Didn’t happen.

That's what they told my neighbor's friend too, but eventually, they wore them down and were admitted.

How? There are hundreds of kids that don’t get admitted for ninth grade. Are you just suggesting that by calling and pestering you can get admitted for 10th? I suggest you post this on the MCPS board and see his they laugh you out of the place. It’s not even practical as there is no way to just pick up the rest of the cohort in 10th and catch up with where they are.

My neighbor who is a college professor had a colleague move to the area the summer before 11th grade. They were told it wasn't possible but he said they were able to make it happen with persistence. Their home school may also have been Blair.

Everyone enters at the start of 9th grade.

OP, there’s no reason why you can’t ask this question here given that this forum is about advanced academic programs. However the answer is no. The only entry to the Blair magnet is in 9th (selection in 8th).

You could go to the MCPS forum if you want more info on Blair. The folks in this forum seem pretty unfriendly and territorial even though the description makes it clear that this is appropriate.

No to your question and you posted it in the wrong forum.

Blair is an advanced academic program so this is the right forum.

True but they're referring to a specific FCPS program that is called AAP just like MCPS has CES.

If that were true, then all the discussions of TJ would be out of bounds, as well as the various contests.

Be nice everyone. This forum's description is a little misleading because it's mostly about Virginia and AAP and TJ.
Go to the MCPS site and repost or get your post moved.

A neighbor of mine claimed a friend of theirs who had moved to the area was able to do this a decade or so ago but it required a lot of persistence. Nevertheless, this is all second hand and likely happened a long time ago.
